We are committed to investing in technical career progression for our people at all levels of the organisation.
Recognising and rewarding technical skill is at the heart of our Technical Career Path. It encourages our people to continue to develop their technical skills through a well-defined framework, moving away from having to step into a traditional people leadership role in order to progress.
By being part of the community, our experts have direct input into our Technology Strategy and play a key role in Vodafone’s future success.
Our Vision
We launched the Technical Career Path in 2023 and are continuing to expand its reach across Vodafone. There are seven levels within our Technical Carer Path ranging from entry levels 1-3 up to fellows at level 7. The pathway is focused on skills across delivery, domain expertise, problem solving, communication and leadership.
To qualify as an accredited technical expert in levels 4-7, individuals must go through a series of peer and panel reviews to demonstrate how they go beyond what’s required of their role today and shape the future direction of Vodafone and the wider industry.

Technical excellence in design, process, system(s) and performance. Experts stand out within functional team as someone who has shaped how others have approached technical engineering problems.
Proven expertise within and increasingly outside of the functional area. Principal Engineers are future focused and their original thinking supports the strategic technical direction of Vodafone.
Deep technical expertise which positively impacts the company and overall industry. Distinguished engineers are recognised internationally as a world class expert in their area and leads on engineering challenges, opportunities and risks.
Define the technical direction of Vodafone and are a visible ambassador internally and externally. Fellows ensure we maximise opportunities, manage risks and bring monetary impact through technology. They arrange resources to make it happen.

For all candidates who are awarded a Level 4 and above, you will become part of the exclusive Vodafone Expert Community where you will engage with world-class experts like yourself.
Monthly Cash Allowance
Based on individual circumstances, a monthly cash allowance is provided to Experts awarded a Level 4 and above.
Technical Expert Title
Everyone awarded an expert level will receive an updated job title.
Digital Badge (Credly)
Everyone awarded a Level 4 and above will receive a digital badge, issued through Credly, to promote their level of expertise.
Attend exclusive conference & events
Experts will get access to exclusive industry events and conferences to attend and represent the Vodafone brand.
