Each journey in technology can look different, depending on the path you choose but all our streams offer a structured development programme that will stretch and challenge you, as well as build your technical expertise. The programme is 2 years and there are four sub-streams to the programme (Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Cyber Security & Big Data) for you to choose from, and we’ll ask for your preferences. You will complete two rotations in different teams – each is 12 months.

Did you know that over the last three years Vodafone has been building a world class software engineering capability driven by some of the best industry minds? Software Engineering is an ever-growing area in Vodafone, and one that is critical to driving us forward from building our own unique customer experiences, buying quality solutions and inventing the future of communications.
As part of this sub-stream, you can expect to be gaining skills through a placement in areas ranging from the Internet of Things, Cloud and Automation to Digital Architecture. Here, learning is focused on disciplines such as cloud solutions, networks, Digital customer experiences, portfolios as well as DevOps, CI/CD toolchains, new software lifecycles and agile methodologies.
Network Engineering
We’re continually building and enhancing our network that connects millions of people and businesses across the world. As part of this sub-stream, you could be a part of the team that makes the magic happen, bringing gigafast speed and innovation to our customers. The next few years at Vodafone are predicted to be even more thrilling than ever before, as networks become virtualized, predictive, self-adapting, and ever more intelligent. So, if you’re blown away by the technology keeping networks connected across different countries 24/7 that enable people and business to change the world… then the network engineering stream is for you!
Within this sub-stream, you could find yourself learning in a placement within network operations (fixed, mobile & TV), radio & transmission, technology strategy and architecture, I.T operations, cloud & virtualisation while obtaining core learning in the area of network engineering.
Big Data, Insights & Analytics
The way our customers use data is as varied as it is complex. So, everything we do to drive Big Data and analytics forward at Vodafone is summed up in our philosophy: think big, start small, scale fast.
Working across various teams focused on Big Data, BI, AI & Robotics, to name a few, using predictive, prescriptive and cognitive analysis to reveal and create the impossible through insight and design. You will get to be a part of the Data Revolution! From apps to chatbots, Artificial Intelligence to Internet of Things.
You might find yourself placed in teams including Big Data Science, Big Data Delivery, Big Data Architecture, Business Intelligence, Technology Shared Services and the Internet of things.
Cyber Security
We need to stay one step ahead of ever-growing cyber threats. We have a strong, international team of security professionals, ethical hackers, cyber-defence experts and architects working hard to create high quality solutions that can work across international boundaries and remain safe and operational in the face of increasingly complex threats. Placements could include Cyber Defence, Security Consultancy and Engineering, Ethical Hacking, Incident Management support, Vulnerability Management as well as Security Architecture.
