Our hiring process

Here's what to expect

At Vodafone, we want every candidate to feel informed, prepared and confident at every stage of their journey with us.

Our hiring process typically includes five key steps: application, online assessment, interviews, and finally offer and onboarding. While the exact stages may vary depending on the role, this page provides a clear overview of what to expect.

1. The application stage

Want to give yourself the best possible start? Check out our application top tips for practical advice on tailoring your CV, showcasing your experience, standing out at Vodafone, and using AI in the right way to support your application.

2. Online assessments

Depending on the role you are applying for, you may be asked to complete an online assessment. They’re designed to help us get to know how you work and understand how your strengths align with our spirit behaviours. The type of assessment you receive will depend on the role.

To help you feel prepared and confident, we’ve outlined what to expect and shared tips for each assessment type below.

3. The interview(s)

Our interview stage brings you one step closer to connecting people for a better future. As with our entire application journey, we want to have a fair and transparent process, which allows all individuals to be at their best.

To assist you ahead of the day, heres some information about our interview process, examples of our interview questions and top tips to help you stand out.

Spirit & Skills Interview

The first stage of our interview process is the Spirit and Skills interview. Our Spirit behaviours show how we get things done and is shared by everyone at Vodafone. It outlines the beliefs we stand for and is our catalyst for change. You can view examples of the spirit questions we ask here.

In the second part of the interview, you will then move onto the skills section. These questions vary depending on the role you have applied for but are vital in us further understanding which areas you excel in.

As with any interview, they'll be a chance for you to ask any questions to the hiring team that you may have. We'll then be back in touch with you within 7 working days of your interview with an update.

Example questions to practice!

Case Study Interview

For many of our roles, we also conduct a case study interview to further understand your ways of working and relevant skills. This could be in many different formats but often is a presentation, analytical task or role play. You're recruiter will provide full details ahead of the interview date so you have time to prepare.

The interview itself will be approximately 45 minutes long depending on the exact task given. You'll be given another chance to ask any questions and your recruiter will be in touch within 7 working days with an update.

We know that attending an interview can be stressful and we want to ensure you are performing your best on the day. To help you with this, and to also help you understand how to use AI in the right ways to support you, we've pulled together some top tips so you can really shine in your interview.

4. Offer & onboarding

Congratulations, you're one step closer to joining a global and diverse community, with many different minds, abilities, backgrounds and cultures.
Below you'll find all the information about what happens after you've received an offer!

The recruiter will contact you to discuss your offer and outline the exact benefits package for your role. After you have concluded the discussion, an offer letter will be sent to you for you to sign and return.

We know no one likes completing forms, but background verification checks are a fundamental part of our recruitment process. After accepting your offer, our background verification agency will reach out to you. Providing these details promptly means we can progress you to onboarding as soon as possible.

You've made it! Once your background checks are all complete, you will be contacted by your local onboarding team who will get you fully prepared for your induction on day one.
