Happy ‘Grad’-uation, Harry!

My time on the Vodafone Business Discover Graduate Scheme has been a fantastic learning experience. When I joined back in September 2021, I had no idea just how exciting the Technology industry could be.

My First Year on the Business Graduate Programme

Since day one, the Business Discover Graduate Scheme provided me with genuine responsibility and an opportunity to learn from different areas of Vodafone’s vast business.

During my first placement within Service Management, I gained exposure to some of our largest Corporate customers where I was tasked with maintaining the relationship between us and them. My responsibilities included driving continuous service improvement, maintaining an exceptional end-to-end service experience, and driving the performance of our operational teams to support in-life service delivery. A personal highlight of mine was the opportunity to visit my customer’s offices in London on a monthly basis to conduct face to face performance reviews of their service with Vodafone.

My Second Year on the Business Graduate Programme

In my 2^nd year, I jumped at the chance to transition into Product Development within Vodafone UK’s Product & Propositions team. I’d had a fantastic initial 12 months understanding how we work with our customers and I was now interested in learning more about how we develop such innovative solutions for these customers.

In this placement, as a Product Owner I drove the development of Vodafone UK’s IoT products. I was responsible for owning and prioritising the backlog of our IoT products, whilst working with our Agile teams to develop the end-to-end processes which define how we sell, build and run our solutions. The Here and Now

The experience on the Discover programme has exceeded my expectations in every aspect. I’ve been lucky enough to lead on some of our most exciting product launches, learned how we provide market-leading customer support to our largest accounts, and even met Usain Bolt whilst volunteering at Vodafone’s annual Legends Ball!

Now, two years on I have successfully offboarded into a permanent role with Vodafone, as a Product Owner across our UK IoT Connectivity & Mobile Private Networks portfolios.
