Who we are
Roughly 1,500 people work in Vodafone IT in Germany with 12,000 worldwide. Our headquarters: Düsseldorf. Yet, there are also many other branches. The newest: Dresden. This is our innovation centre. Here, we research and develop future areas such as IoT, 5G, 6G, and augmented reality. One advantage of having different locations: You can work where you can do it best. The key word here is Full Flex Office.
IT has long been far more than just a computer room. We play a key role on the journey to become a tech company. Discover our programming languages
Python
We often use Python to process or transform data. Sometimes, we also write services in it.
C#
We create software developed in-house for business customers. We utilise diverse programming languages ranging from C#, JavaScript, C++ to SQL. We need these for applications on devices, for cloud-based services, back-end components and web applications as part of the E2E solutions.
Java
We write the server logic in business components. We use Java and our own scripting language here.

Is performance important for our solutions? This is where React comes into play. In particular, our B2C environment benefits from React, namely shop profiles, trust badges, widgets and other areas.
Pandas
We utilise Pandas to process data in Python quickly and flexibly.
Vue.js
When user interaction and the user experience are important in our solutions? Then we use Vue.js. In particular, our Elias Mobile version ARGO for tablets benefits from Vue.js.

CircleCI is our CI/CD tool for automated builds, testing and deployment.
Terraform
We use Terraform and Terragrunt as infrastructure and as code for configuring and deploying the public cloud solutions.
Datadog
Now when it comes to application and infrastructure monitoring, we utilise established standards such as Datadog.
Discover our databases and hostings
AWS
We build infrastructure in the cloud for our IT applications. This includes virtual servers, databases, load balancers, and Kubernetes clusters. Amazon Web Services or AWS for short is our primary cloud provider.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
We use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Why? To optimally position our applications for our customers. And also, for high availability and the best performance.
MySQL, MariaDB, Postgresql, DocumentDB, Redis
We employ a variety of database types to provide data.
Projects and History
The Vodafone Hackathon
Give your creativity free rein at the Hackathon. Develop prototypes with your colleagues and present the product to a jury. This might even kick-off an important change at Vodafone.
Women in Tech
Women in Tech is an initiative at Vodafone that contributes to a fair, equal and inclusive working environment in technology and IT. We aim to inspire female colleagues for technology and IT, create an appreciative working environment for women in technology and IT and to present the attractive development opportunities available here.
IT Summit
Time to share ideas and new impulses! We gather at the IT Summit every six months as the Digital & IT team to ensure that we all stay in touch. The event also includes exciting external speakers, giving us the opportunity to think outside the box. At the event, the internal focus topics for the next period are also presented and there are plenty of opportunities for networking. #getitdonetogether
