Whereas mobile telephony used to be our core business, today we do much more: We accompany our customers into the digital future. Naturally, we do not work alone but as a team. We prepare our customers for their business.
We primarily focus on the VBG strategy and customer sales. Our teams work closely together. Enterprise SOHO & Digital supports our Drive Digital Business and Soho Segment P&L. Enterprise Marketing & Products develops and manages areas such as the product and tariff portfolio. Enterprise Public & Health provides digital mobile solutions in security-relevant sectors such as for the police or networks public authorities and for the civil administration. Vodafone Business Germany consists of numerous different departments. We are a very large team.
Customer satisfaction is our focus. We build them customised solutions. In the process, we help them to achieve their success. This is only possible with our strong sales teams, our sophisticated project management and also by developing innovations and identifying trends.

Your career in Business Sales begins in the Vodafone Gate, the induction programme. From here, there are several development paths, which are individually oriented on the respective area. From Junior Account Manager (JAM) to Account Manager (SAM) and then into professional specialisations such as (Senior) Data Account Manager or Major Data Account Manager. Specific criteria are defined for each further step. These have to be fulfilled both quantitatively and qualitatively for further development. The future made in Düsseldorf, where ideas become innovations. In our laboratories, pioneering spirit meets the can-do attitude. We connect start-ups, corporations, service providers, universities and provide a productive environment for innovations focusing on IoT, 5G and the cloud.
And we are truly innovative in every respect: We are one of two main investors in the AST SpaceMobile start-up. The company is planning the first space-protected network. It will connect standard mobile phones to broadband speeds via 4G and 5G without any additional accessories. The goal: Connecting the largest 49 countries in the equator region at launch, namely 1.6 billion people with 20 satellites via this service.
And we are already putting innovations on the road today. Two thirds of all Germans use the largest cable fibre network and more than 100,000 businesses are also connected to the digital world via our fibre optic connections. 5G is mobilising society in real time and takes the economy to a new level. We launched the first commercial 5G network in Germany in 2019. And already reach more than 45 million people. Our network for people and machines makes cities smarter, traffic safer, processes more efficient while also helping to save resources. From the IoT world market leader.
Millions of fans trust our networks
Network slicing serves to transmit live images from Formula 1 stably and smoothly over the mobile network. RTL tried this out for the first time at the Nürburgring. This technology gives camera operators greater freedom of movement. RTL’s goal is to provide even easier and more direct coverage of major events in the future.
Network slicing essentially enables virtual subnetworks to be established for specific applications. This technology was deployed at the Nürburgring using the 5G and the more tested LTE network. It provided smooth transmission despite the fact that thousands of fans at the racetrack were using the mobile network.

How fast are players running? What pass opportunities do they have at this moment? And what are their chances of success in a duel? In future, we would like to answer questions like these in real time using the 5G Stadium App live on site. Augmented reality merges the stadium feeling and individually accessible information in an innovative 5G case.
The first preparations for the first 5G stadium in the Bundesliga began in 2019 in cooperation with the DFL at the Volkswagen Arena of VfL Wolfsburg. The goal: To create a stadium experience where the emotions on-site merge with real-time information and analyses from the digital world.
