Feel at home, wherever you’re based

We’re committed to making this a welcoming environment for everyone – a place where you can be yourself and be celebrated for it. As part of that commitment, we have a number of initiatives in place to support our LGBT+ community.

Network

Our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT+) & Friends Network champions inclusion and celebrates diversity, both at work and out in the community. From a buddy system to a Pride-month packed with awareness-raising events, this network helps us ensure that LGBT+ voices are heard in all we do at Vodafone.

Out and proud

In 2018, our research found that 58% of young LGBT+ people weren’t open about their sexual orientation or gender identity at work, because they feared discrimination by managers and colleagues. At Vodafone, we continue to collaborate with external organisations to have a positive impact on LGBT+ inclusion in our communities, as well as reviewing our engagement data, via our “Spirit Beat” survey, to check our LGBT+ colleagues are thriving.

Leading from the top

With senior allies around the world, we’ve held workshops for middle managers, new graduates and senior leaders. Anyone at Vodafone can undertake online learning with a view to being a withstander to impactful allyship. We also ensure our policies are inclusive; from our transitioning guidance to our non-gendered hormone changes and parental leave, we are taking action to make sure people can truly be themselves.

Pride and celebration

Every Pride Week, we host a global webinar celebrating our LGBT+ colleagues, and LGBT+ history, that’s attended by thousands of employees around the world. Throughout the year we also ensure that our events, panels and contributions represent the breadth of our community and that our LGBT+ colleagues are visible and profiled for their brilliant work.
