Role purpose:
Digital transformation is a journey not a one off-event. It needs to be nurtured and grown by talented people who experiment, fail fast and innovate at pace. Being part of an agile team, the Senior QA Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining the quality of team’s deliverables. By developing and executing tests and overseeing the end-to-end development process, QA Engineers ensure that functionality and code will meet both Product Owner and end customer needs.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to ensure adherence to design quality and coding standards
• Design and implement tests for user and technical stories
• Test and validate solution against user and technical story acceptance criteria, leveraging automation where possible
• Debug tests and provide corrective actions to software engineering
• Identify, record, and monitor testing bugs
• Architectural element testing e.g. APIs
• Performance and security testing
• Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect density and early life incidents
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
• Manage incidents as level two and level three support
• Suggest improvements to user stories and UX

Core competencies, experience & knowledge:
• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
• 3+ of work experience in software quality assurance, testing, programming and /or systems analysis
• Experience of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, with experience writing and executing comprehensive test plans and cases
• Experience of automated testing tools and scripting, such as Selenium webdriver, Appium etc
• Experience working with multiple programming and scripting languages, such as JavaScript, Ruby, SQL, and Python
• Competency in UX principles and practices preferred
• Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry preferred
• JIRA/Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent experience preferred
