In order to fulfil this objective IoT leadership requires a Principal IoT Platforms Manager to lead engineering of Vodafone’s IoT digital platforms and products. This role will report into the Head of IoT Digital Services and be accountable for technical product ownership, technical architecture, and engineering of Vodafone’s Business IoT platforms and products.

As the Principal IoT Platforms Manager, you will be responsible for engineering of IoT platforms (e.g. application enablement and device management) and products (e.g. digital surveillance). You will lead a team of technical product owners, technical architects, platform engineers, DevOps engineers, systems engineers and QA engineers.

This is a very central and key role within the IoT Practice, which is an organisation within Vodafone Business Platforms and Solutions to address the ever growing demands of businesses both large and small on a global scale. You will play an instrumental role in an agile environment and will be key to Vodafone maintaining our global leadership position in IoT.

• Lead a cross-functional team of technical product owners, platform technical architects, platform engineers, DevOps engineers, systems engineers and QA engineers.

• Define platform features and user stories based on epics and priorities from Product Management. Define and maintain technical architecture for each of the platforms.

• Implement delivery models to develop, run, maintain, enhance and change our IoT platforms ensuring that commitments are met for stakeholder groups across Group and OpCos.

• Play an instrumental role in building out and maintaining our partner and developer ecosystem.

• Proven hands-on experience in IoT Platform development and deployment in a CDI/DevOps based environment (Java SE, Javascript, Scripting langauges, i.e. python, perl, shell scripts, Unix/Microsoft based environments)
• Experience in developing & deploying large scale enterprise backend & frontend software systems & web applications.
• Proficiency in cloud-native development & deployments and web services technologies (e.g. REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, HTML5, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with CDI tools, such as, Jira, Jenkins, Nexus, Sonar, GIT, Confluence et al.
