Your role:


Lead the regional IP LAN engineering & delivery team within Data Core focusing on the countries of the cluster (UK, Ireland, Portugal and Spain), being accountable for the low level design, network implementation, delivery and optimization of IP LAN systems and networks (Service and Management LAN, Data Centre and Office networks) in these countries that support reliable and secure hosted and collaborative services across the whole Vodafone Network in Europe.


Manage all the relevant relationships with the local stakeholders in the cluster countries, in particular network operations, local security team and other local teams for the implementation of normal network capacity management or configuration activities, special projects or the handling of emergency situations.


Be accountable for all optimisation activities within IP LAN in these countries and be directly involved in all the performance analysis and improvements devised as necessary.


Responsible for developing and expanding the team’s technical skills and experience. Responsible to guarantee consistency and harmonisation across the group, promoting and delivering all possible best practise processes & cost savings initiatives.

  • Build the best opportunities for in country improvements within Service and Management LAN and Office and local Data Centres networks in line with regional strategy, analysing potential risks of that strategy for these specific countries and supporting Planning Design and Dimensioning team to adjust/improve the plan if needed.

  • Develop strong established relationships with key stakeholders in the cluster countries, namely with local operational & commercial/ demand teams and stakeholders.


Apply if you have:

  • Knowledge on Networks (TCP/IP, Protocols, Structures, Hardware, Security).

  • Knowledge in the area of the installation and configuration of network components (Routers, Switches, VPN Gateways, Firewalls, Proxies and others).

  • Knowledge in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP), VOIP technology, WLAN technology, DHCP, DNS.

  • Knowledge in network management and network analysis.

  • Good stakeholder management skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results/change.

  • Operational experience.

  • Knowledge in security (policies, encryption, Authentication, Authorization, Accounting, 802.1x, PKI, certificates).

  • Experience in SDN solutions.
