In order to fulfil this objective IoT leadership require an IoT Platform Technical Architect tasked with overseeing the creation and maintenance of one or more IoT Platforms (e.g. Application Enablement, Device Management). As a subject matter expert, you will be accountable for the strategy, architecture, roadmap and design of one or more platforms.
Define develop and maintain platform architecture and technical roadmaps including effectively evaluating build/rent/buy decisions.
Be responsible for engaging with technical and business stakeholders to understand their needs, prioritise the delivery approach, and guide technical leads in solution delivery as a design authority
Assess the ongoing success of platform efforts and report on progress
Evangelise business benefits and impact of the platform as well as the value of modern delivery and engineering practices.
Support building of solutions through consultancy and advice on platforms.
- Experience of IoT Platforms (e.g. AWS IoT, Azure IoT, PTC ThingWorx, Software AG Cumulocity)
- Knowledge of public cloud service offerings (IaaS, PaaS, DBaaS services)
- Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Software (Container Orchestration, Observability, CI/CD)
- Modern security practices
- Modern API platform design
