Digital Portfolio Manager

Competitive salary + Excellent benefits

Digital transformation is a journey not a one off-event. It needs to be nurtured and grown by talented people who experiment, fail fast and innovate at pace.

We continually experiment with ways to make our journeys more intuitive, simple and enjoyable. And we’re constantly testing and trialling ways to give customers faster access to our services, more flexibility - and the richest, most rewarding experience.

All you need is the right mindset and the desire to help us create award-winning digital experiences – we work at pace, we love ideas and collaborate on agile projects.

About the role

You will play a key role in our UK Digital team by managing and tracking headcount across the squads both in house and outsourced, as well as managing the related finance budgets (opex ~£20m and capex ~£25m).  You will be determining the ability of other areas of Digital to be effective; and given the drive to increase self-service for both sales and service transactions for our customers.

You will ensure all demand generated across the business effectively reaches the Segment, Base, Digital Enablers and Digital Engineering squads, ensuring optimum portfolio investment.  This encompasses collating all Capex requests from across the business, prioritising it based on criteria agreed with business areas and planning capacity to meet demand, agree funding and subsequently track spend vs budget.

On a day to day basis your role will involve:
  • Running the UK Digital demand and portfolio management processes
  • Annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting of capex and opex for Digital
  • Quarterly reporting on capex performance vs business case for Digital
  • Building Agile business case for annual capex requirements in conjunction with relevant stakeholders (Digital Enablers, IT & Finance)
  • Managing 1 direct report

Things we would consider critical for the role:
  • Understanding of concepts and procedures within demand management
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence stakeholders
  • Ideally experience within a Digital department, possibly including experience of agile framework
  • Finance management experience
