Low Level Network Design for Global Enterprise Customers.


1) Provide technical consultancy & expertise for complex customer requirements during “SELL” phase on Vodafone Fixed Line and Unified Communications products and solutions.

a) Undertake Global travel on need basis to engage with customers, understand their technical requirements and underlying business drivers.
b) Input product, technical and service related elements into the RFP (Request for Proposal) response to customer
c) Work with the Sales teams, Solution Consultants and Service Designers and use Vodafone’s fixed line and Unified Communications product portfolio to propose a customer solution
d) Recommend innovative, optimum solutions with a maximum level of simplicity that meet customer requirements and work towards influencing customers buying decision in Vodafone’s favour
e) Consolidate resource and cost estimates for technical solution design and ensure its competitive for a bid
f) Sign-off High-Level Design developed by Solution Architects in Enterprise Sales / VGE

2)Develop detailed technical design that will deliver optimum solution for complex customer requirements and produce appropriate design documents during the “BUILD” phase

a) Take E-2-E ownership during the “BUILD” phase and ensure technical deliverables promised during the SELL phase are delivered by engaging with Projects and Solution Consultants
b) Lead detailed design and system integration workshops with customer SME’s
c) Produce design statement of work, incl. third party deliverables
d) Complete the detailed solution design in accordance with Vodafone’s design methodology, ensuring compliance of third party design deliverables; coordinating local technical solution architects, network engineers, operations and external partners across various markets
e) Develop implementation and migration concept
f) Ensure E2E solution design incl. ability to manage solution in life-cycle (moves, changes, e.g. capacity increases)
g) Develop operating concept for final approval and execution by responsible departments

3) Coordinate technical implementation and take full responsibility for the success of technical components of international delivery projects, delivering a differentiated customer experience

a) Provide demos and proof of concepts for customers, which will require global travel.
b) Manage the delivery of Proof of Concept setup’s by engaging and mentoring Design Consultants
c) Closely work with third parties as well as local Technical Solution Architects (from local TES) and local Network Engineers from various markets
d) Manage external interfaces during build phase, e.g., with solution providers (Cisco, Alcatel, NCR, Dimension Data, etc.) for resolution of technical issues
e) Responsible for taking “Ready for Integration” (RFI) decision thus kick-starting the customer journey into in-life support

4) Establish professional relationships with key stakeholders and manage interfaces effectively
a) Build professional working relationships with customers,third parties and within Vodafone on various levels of the organisation
b) Coach and support team members including Design Consultants and mentor them technically

5) Maintain required technical knowledge up-to-date and drive innovation
a) Maintains industry-recognized certification for networking and/or security technologies (e.g. Cisco)
b) Keeps current on industry best practices
c) Maintain working knowledge of all technologies used within Vodafone and ensure ability to clearly articulate the business benefits of solution portfolio
d) Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of core technologies embedded within solution (e.g. IP networking, SSL VPN, firewalls, anti-virus, encryption, etc.)
e) Identify new opportunities that can be taken to market based on observations during customer engagements
