Data Engineer
Location - Newbury

This is a Permanent and Full time opportunity

 

Salary - £40,000 to £50,000 DOE

 

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Data Engineer and Automation Specialist to join our Networks team.  The Mobile Access team consists of four different functions to include Transport, Fibre, Microwave and Process definition and are responsible for defining the `what` and `how` so that our ‘’Network Area Teams’’ can implement various technologies in the network.

 

The role of the automation and data analyst is to derive insights from freshly rapidly growing data sets. You will be responsible for extracting, transforming, reporting and visualising data on current and future data sets.

 

You will be accountable for developing PHP, MySQL,Oracle,Java, Python queries, accessing data warehouses, generating automated reports, creating KPIs and metrics for performance of both teams and fulfilment operations. You will provide business insights based upon data to further improve our processes and create efficiencies.

Your role will also involve providing guidance and technical support to customers and stakeholders who want to use business intelligence tools and assisting with configuration and overview of the tools. 

 

A key element to this role will be to develop solutions for automating complex repeatable queries that normalise /clean data and create efficiencies.

 

 

What we are looking for in you.
A passion for Data and a keen interest in automation will be essential!
Strong analytical thinking and communication skills
Confidence with statistical programming languages (e.g. Python)
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to research, plan and implement new data driven processing analysis/functionality to meet the business demands
Passionate for creating highly usable and thorough dashboards/visualisations to be consumed by executives and engineers.

Key Skills - PHP, MySQL, Oracle, Java, Python
Telecommunication and GSM/UMTS/LTE network knowledge highly beneficial
