Our Team:

Vodafone Procurement Company (“VPC”), based in Luxembourg is a strategically important Procurement centre which manages €16bn p.a. of IT, Network, Enterprise, Leased Line, Commercial and Services, and Terminals spend of Vodafone’s operating subsidiaries, and provides procurement and sourcing services to Vodafone’s partner markets.

The Commercial Finance Analyst will support the VPC business and the Commercial FInance Managers across all spend categories through the provision of financial expertise including advanced financial modelling, cash flow management strategies and preparation of finance position papers for complex procurement deals. The role involves interaction with multiple senior stakeholders across Luxembourg and the Vodafone international group.

With us you will:
  • Support VPC Financial Decision making covering Networks, IT and Services
  • Assist with the accounting and financial management of Group-wide Opex and Capex procurement deals
  • Support commercial finance aspects of the external procurement arrangements entered into by Vodafone Procurement Company
  • Be the interface between Local Market Finance and SCM in order to optimise leverage of global scale, scope, and buying power vendor key stakeholders, and ensuring that financial implications are fully understood in advance of key decisions being made
  • Work with Group Treasury team and Procurement teams in order to pro-actively identify and implement financial accretive opportunities.
  • Support annual KPI SCM target setting process and be a single point of contact for key business stakeholders in tracking progress against defined targets
  • Advise and ensure compliance with all Group Policies such as Delegation of Authority, Group Accounting Policy, Group Treasury Policy, Anti-bribery, Ethical Purchasing, Sanctions Compliance, Payment terms compliance (including UK prompt Payment Code)
  • Be a Key member of the VPC Finance community whom represents Vodafone and Finance when dealing with third parties such as key suppliers
  • Contribute to various VPC Finance and multi-functional projects in respect of cost reduction, risk management, working capital improvement, and revenue generation
  • Be a Key approver of Vodafone procurement contracts through the eCas system
  • Support Vodafone Group RBS Procurement Savings methodology and pipeline, including delivering training and ad hoc consultancy to third party partner markets using the methodology, and representing Vodafone externally on this topic (including procurement professional bodies, and other best practice sharing events)

  • A fully developed business partnering mind-set and strong accounting skills
  • Ability to deliver and program manage multiple initiatives in parallel with competing priorities and in a fast moving business environment
  • Experience of preparing financial models
  • Commercial awareness and acumen in order to advise on deal structures
  • Understanding and experience of procurement negotiations, including process, and behavioural aspects (tactics, gambits etc.)
  • Have strong risk awareness and risk management skills
  • Knowledge of financial, legal, and tax aspects of cross-border international trading, including legal, tax, and treasury aspects.
  • Awareness of key procurement topics where Vodafone is scrutinised by governmental bodies (ethical and sustainable purchasing, relations with small companies, payments to small companies).
  • Expertise in financial metrics and designing key performance indicators to measure and incentivise the right behaviours in order to achieve optimum commercial outcomes.

We’re happy if you:
  • Are a Qualified Accountant or equivalent (Masters level relevant degree)
  • Have at least five years relevant Financial experience
  • Are preferably big 4 trained
  • Are a Self-starter with ability to work autonomously as well as within in a team
  • Have strong IT skills (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools)
