A Bit About the Role

This role will be working in a dynamic team of Security Specialists, Designers and Engineers playing a crucial role to ensure the security of both Vodafone and some of our highest value clients. You will have the opportunity to both utilise your existing skills on exciting projects, as well as develop new skills on varied and interesting work including the onboarding of a major new client.


Reporting to the Security DevOps Team Lead within our Security Practice, the core role will be to take a lead role in the onboarding and implementation of new security systems for a large client, then the maintenance of a highly available, secure environment for our managed security clients, services and core infrastructure. You will lead the resolution of complex faults and help in transforming security operating models to a modern approach.


You will be working alongside Vodafone’s most experienced Security Specialists, and will have the opportunity to learn from them and develop your skills from the wide range of resources we have available.


The role will be a combination of both internal and client facing aspects, with time on client site possibly a core component of the role, and a small on call aspect will be introduced to the role in 6-12 months as shared between the team.

What Will I Be Doing?

  • Take a lead role in incident and change management activities for both internal and external customers
  • Design and implement complex changes in and across a range of products in accordance with relevant change procedures, ensuring customer requirements are met
  • Actively support the team by creating accurate and simple documentation to support business processes
  • Develop and support procedures, processes, code to increase the efficiency, capacity and capability of the security functions
  • Demonstrate leadership in the support process and ownership of service delivery
  • Perform effective knowledge sharing and support of team members

What Will I Bring?

  • Proven, commercial experience working directly in security
  • A good attitude ready to pick up complex, unfamiliar challenges and run with them
  • Experience with Check Point Firewall, Fortinet, Cisco routing and switching technologies
  • Operating and maintaining load balancers, proxies and other networking infrastructure in a security environment
  • Automation tooling & development
  • Familiar with Cloud security concepts, AWS & Azure security tools and/or concepts around containerisation.
  • Capable of working under pressure, excellent problem solving and time management skills & flexibility to work outside business hours as/when needed
