Location: Vodafone Group locations Europe

Role purpose:
To Develop, build, implement and operate 24x7 Public Cloud infrastructure services and technology solutions for European wide internal Vodafone applications and customers. To design, plan and implement a growing set of public cloud platforms and solutions used to provide mission critical infrastructure services to Vodafone internal customers. To constantly analyse, optimise, migrate and transform the global Vodafone legacy IT infrastructure environment into cloud ready & cloud native solutions and responsible for providing software-related operations support, including managing level two and level three incident and problem management

 

With us you will:
• Manage project driven integration and day-to-day administration of cloud solutions into the group datacentre (GDC)
• Develop prototypes, designing and building modules and solutions for Cloud Platforms in an iterative agile cycles, develop, maintain, and optimize the business outcome
• Conduct peer reviews and maintain coding standards
• Driving Cloud solution automation and integration activity for Cloud Providers like AWS, Azure etc. and Tenant (Project) workloads.
• Build and deploy AWS, GCP and Azure cloud infrastructure by using cloud formation and terraform scripts.
• Develop Ansible and Python scripts for infrastructure automation like “user creation”, “security hardening”, etc.
• Migrate and transform existing on-premises applications to Public cloud.
• EC2, ECS and VPC operations activities in AWS cloud.
• Storage allocation and maintenance in AWS by using S3, EBS and Glacier storage.
• Deploying and resizing of EC2 instances on running environment.
• Manage ELBs and Elastic IPs.
• Design and deploy direct connect network between AWS and datacentre.
• Provide on-call support for AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Train and develop AWS expertise within the organisation.
• Troubleshoot datacentre to AWS network connectivity, routing issues and security group problems, etc.
• Troubleshoot EC2 instances performance, capacity issues, etc.
• Support the establishment of DevOps  culture and methodologies within the GDC organisation
• Providing professional technical consultancy and support to all Cloud-related programmes and existing environments
 

 

Apply if you have:
• Profound Cloud Technology, Network, Security and Platform Expertise (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Expertise in AWS cloud services like VPC, EC2, ECS, S3, EBS, Glacier, ELB, Elastic IPs, etc.
• Expertise in automation and workflow like Cloud formation templates, Ansible scripts and Python scripts. Puppet,Chef, Salt
• DevOps Tools: HashiCorp Stack (Packer, Terraform etc.), Docker, Kubernetes
• Demonstrable knowledge in setting up VPCs and creating new environment in AWS cloud.
• Extensive knowledge in monitoring, troubleshooting Linux/Unix, Apache and network services.
• Expertise in multiple programming and markup languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, SQL, XML, JSON, YAML, and Python
• Working experience with AWS service Lambda.
• Good documentation and communication skills.

Must have technical/professional qualifications:
• Adapt in ITIL, SOX and security regulations
• Three to five years of work experience in programming and /or systems analysis applying agile frameworks
• Experience with Web applications and Web hosting skills.
• Experience with DevOps concept in cloud environment.
• Working experience in managing highly business critical environments.
• AWS architect/operations associate certification with experience preferred.
• Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry preferred
