Role Title: Mobile Network Converged Charging Architect 
Location: UK/Italy/Spain

 

Role purpose: 
 

Technical ownership of Converged Charging for Vodafone, defining the strategy and architecture for rating and monetization. Responsible for the selection of vendors for this area, and the definition and management of roadmaps for the deployed systems, and benchmarking of vendors against Vodafone requirements. Providing architectural guidance and blueprints to Vodafone markets, ensuring that solutions evolve to meet future requirements and enable the monetization of new services. Ensure vendor solutions are aligned to Vodafone strategy on Cloud, and properly support operational agility and automation, while delivering optimised costs, improving flexibility and reducing time-to-market for new propositions.

With us you will:

  • Design solutions to support monetization of new 5G enabled services such as Augmented Reality, advanced NW gaming, Network slicing and other ones exploiting the new capabilities offered by 5G SA and related 5G Core as defined by 3GPP.
  • Participate to the design of the integration of these platforms to the 5G network and the definition of relevant configurations and settings as well as the definition of new requirements to be set on the NW.
  • Include in the design and selection process the requirements for cloud native characteristics of the overall E2E solution (platforms and NW), maximising flexibility, automation, resiliency and customer experience while optimising overall efficiency/costs.
  • Support Product development and commercial teams and ensure Convergent Charging architecture and capabilities are prepared to support future products and propositions.
  • Manage evolution of deployed products, benchmark them and select new Vendors and products in the relevant area as per Vodafone needs 
  • Support Local Markets and Group units in relevant design and deployment activities
  • Design solutions to support “Network as a Platform” Vodafone model, using exposed APIs to interact with external parties to provide new E2E services.

 

Apply if you have: 

  • Solid technical experience on: Core network (components and architecture) and Service applications
  • Specific knowledge in the area of Converged Charging, Online/Offline Charging, and 5G monetization
  • General competence/background: in telecommunications (technologies and services) and IT technologies (e.g. microservices architecture)
  • Competence in cloud technologies and cloud native solutions such as containers.
  • Communication skills: English language (spoken and written), good communication & presentation and negotiation skills
  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in Converged Charging Solutions and in Core Network 
  • Fluent English level
