Team overview: 

Vodafone Business Security Go To Market Practice (SGP) is dedicated to providing vulnerability and security threat expertise in support of the Go To Market function, (VBG) business units, employees and our customers – to support this SGP are required to ensure that a consistent approach. 

As part of the Vodafone security team, SGP interface with a wide range of global stakeholders at all management levels across the whole of the Vodafone Group and Operating Companies. Working collaboratively to ensure there is a consistent view providing current cyber threat trends and vulnerability information in support of Go to Market for Vodafone Cloud & Security products.


Role purpose:

The role of the Cyber Operations Lead is to manage and coordinate the delivery of the SGP cyber vulnerability and threat management strategy. This includes the identification, assessment, management and appropriate mitigation of vulnerabilities and cyber threats, liaising with all SGP business functions and customer account teams, and working with vulnerability owners within Vodafone Group and beyond into the Operating Companies. Additionally, the role will require active interaction and participation in threat intelligence and cyber defence threat management within the Vodafone Group and Operating Companies areas of specialism.

Key responsiblities will include:

  • Own the design and integration of Cyber Operations tools, such as ServiceNOW & threat intelligence capabilities and associated supporting process documentation 
  • Lead engagement with Group Cyber & Operating Companies Cyber functions to ensure a cohesive approach to Cyber vulnerability management  
  • Lead engagement with Group Cyber & Operating Companies Cyber functions to ensure a cohesive approach to Cyber threat intelligence
  • Identification, assessment, management and appropriate mitigation of vulnerabilities and cyber threats Direct operational teams in the analysis and containment of vulnerabilites arising from vulnerability scanning or threat intelligence activites.
  • Providing DoA managerial support for the team manager 

With us you will:

Working with Vodafone partners, you will support the Vodafone Senior Manager CCS Cyber Operations to:

  • Provide strategic to a network of senior stakeholders, inc SGP Senior Management, and Cyber leads, maintaining high levels of continuous engagement and leadership 
  • Provide technical leadership to vulnerability management 
  • Ownership and development of the ServiceNOW Vulnerability Response handbook and supporting process documentation. Hold regular reviews, of the vulnerabilities held within ServiceNOW Vulnerability Response.
  • Develop and maintain the operational toolsets used to support service delivery
  • Develop and manage reporting capability.  Create and deliver relevant documentation for various vulnerability management forums, some of which you will own and Chair.  Design vulnerability dashboard(s), providing an ongoing view of current vulnerability exposure.
  • Provide leadership, for specialist vulnerability expertise and guidance; ensuring security threat vectors, vulnerabilities, appropriate mitigations and arising security risks are assessed and recorded and managed

  • Demonstrable strategic perspective, stakeholder management and communication skills with ability to build and develop relationships across various levels of the business
  • Ability to articulate and communicate complex technical and security information and impacts clearly using plain English for a non-technical audience
  • Recognise the threat factors and technical vulnerability details whilst retaining the ability to relate the possible impact to organisational objectives and understand the bigger picture
  • Strong process, tool, documentation and reporting design, implementation & management skills and experience
  • Excellent awareness and wide experience of risk and security principles and methodologies
  • Recognised investigation, analyst or security training and/or qualifications such as CISSP, Security+, CISM  (not all)
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision with a determination to succeed, balanced with appropriate tact and diplomacy.
