Location: London Paddington/Newbury

A world leading total communications company with operations in 100 countries is recruiting for a Commercial Assurance Manager within its Cloud Operations, where you will be taking a senior position and will be responsible for assuring and managing the commercial risk within a $0.5bn Venture and Vodafone end customer’s contract relationships across the Venture, key suppliers and Customers.


Your skill as an Intelligent buyer of service contracts in a business to business situation will be pivotal to success. Relationship building and contract bid management, combined with your knowledge of business cloud technologies, will play a crucial role in the growth of Vodafone Group Enterprise. You will have the opportunity to manage commercial risk-based decisions that have multi-million-pound implications. You will understand Governance best practice and lead projects to optimise its process.

With us you will:

• Build and manage venture partner relationships across multiple functions and disciplines
• Lead and set the direction for venture win strategies on complex and major deals
• Coordinate, lead, and chair deal negotiations
• Understand customer cost and value drivers to support reshaping and proposing innovative pricing and commercial offers whilst protecting business interests and risk profiles
• Produce deal RACI’s for solution, service, and delivery functions to ensure smooth in-life operations and ensure key deliverables are met
• Analyse and interpret complex pricing models to identify risks, anomalies, and opportunities – report key findings to exec level
• Conduct commercial and financial analysis on ad-hoc projects
• Challenge, verify, and establish pricing model proposals for major deals, and interrogate underlying financials with stress testing and sensitivity analysis
• Interrogate billing and understand billing systems to ensure bespoke requirements can be met
• Provide informative reporting to bid leadership and executives to support data driven decision making
• Analyse deals to produce a growth / margin strategy for the in-life programme team
• Produce self-service tools, implement processes, and drive positive change to improve team efficiency and impact
• Develop risk analytics and methodology and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Gain deep understanding of the contracts. Identify and mitigate risks. Seek and pursue opportunities to increase revenue and/or profitability.
• Manage senior stakeholders in case of potential or actual escalation.

Apply if you have: 

• Contract and commercial management – competent with T&C’s flowdowns throughout the supply chain
• Strong coaching skills and demonstrable ability to deliver though non ‘Direct Reports’
• 5 years’ experience in B2B / enterprise services environment.
• 5 years’ experience in senior commercial B2B role – ideally key partner / major supplier facing
• 5 years’ experience in Bid commercial and/or Governance (deal negotiations, contract & change management). 
• Experience in commercial delivery of contracts, preferably in Hosting and Cloud
• Contract negotiation and risk management
• Ability to analyse complex data and report on risk likelihood and impact at exec level
• Excel skills and systems understanding – highly proficient in excel
• Able to analyse complex pricing models and decipher salient points and areas of risk
• Cost base modelling – understanding of full cost base for bids and model the financial construct of major deals
• Analytical skills – forecasting operational profitability of deals
• Ability to identify broken/sub-optimal processes and implement changes.
• Experienced in reading & improving P+L’s with complex cost structures.
• Highly numerical and high attention to detail – ideally with pricing innovation experience
• Team player – experience working cross-functionally
• Excellent relationship builder, with the necessary personal impact to build credibility with customers, the account team and Sales Leadership.
• Strong communicator and able to report across multiple levels – able to tailor messaging appropriately for different audiences
