Role Purpose

Packet Core team leader is responsible of the team managing the operation of the VF – Italy Packet Core network encompassing the Evolved Packet Core, the Data Service enabler as Enrichment, Video Optimization, Secure Net, CDN for VF-TV, PCRF, and the Infrastructure & Security including Service LAN switching/routing infrastructure and E2E services such as Anti-DDOS, Firewalling, Deep Packet Inspection and DNS.

Accountable of incidental and preventive maintenance and change management supporting engineering and delivery teams in deploying new and cutting edge data technologies and services ensuring that the implementation respects resiliency, monitoring and quality standards to guarantee the proper network stability and operational excellence.

Lead a range of operation activities interacting with variety of vendors for technical support services to meet and exceed the expected performance.

Accountable to support appropriately the budget preparation, fulfilling all priorities needs and ensuring a timely and transparent spent. 

Drive team resources to truly support Company strategy, support Customer needs and develop their professional skills.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

•    Incident management, Problem Management and Preventive maintenance on Packet Core leading towards the Operational Excellence 
•    Support the introduction and manage cutting edge technologies ensuring accuracy and that all changes respect resiliency, monitoring and quality standards
•    Vendor and budget management 
•    Stimulate the synergies, harmonization and consolidation activities inside the Network Operations ensuring the evolution towards the Digital Operations
•    Build and maintain an efficient and highly performing team and environment and pursue people growth, identifying the most gifted talents and supporting them in their career evolution

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

•    Deep E2E knowledge of Core Network and Service architectures 
•    Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries with problem solving skills and attitude to manage emergency and stressful situation to deliver results and improve performance
•    Attitude to construct effective relationships with high ability to influence the team to reach the Operational Excellence 
•    Decision-making skills with the attitude to balance and resolve conflicts
•    People management and team building skills encouraging collaboration and motivating  people inside the organization

Must have technical / professional qualifications

•    3Y+ of managing a team with similar complexity
•    Deep knowledge of mobile and fixed data network architectures and systems
•    Inter-functional relationships, teamwork, cooperation and time management
•    Business awareness and Customer orientation with up-to-date knowledge and skills related to job responsibilities
•    Strong orientation to deliver results in tight timeline and in stressful situation aiming to operational excellence 
•     English skills:  Very Good written and spoken
•     Can do’s approach and flexibility to manage unexpected situations and constant change
