Role purpose

Responsible for keep relation between GDC Infrastructure Operations and Vodafone Local Markets and maintain a high quality of Service availability and performance. Ensuring third level technical support and guidance during incidents as well as in customer planned special release cycle.

Interface with Local market to support in designing service implementation in cooperation with the Platform team. Plan activities related to Top Services such as proactive maintenance activities, architectural improvements, and Incidents resolution as well as root cause analysis. Responsible to track RCA and mitigate issue repetition with focus to prevent incident reoccurrence.

Be the key interface for the Local Markets to recommend and provide proactive strategic solutions identified within the TSA and Platform teams. Enable automations with the aim to prevent Major or P1 Incidents on local markets Top Services.

Responsible to coordinate and manage L1 and L2 support teams across Europe and TSS helping them to become more autonomous in managing first and second level Support.

Lead war rooms during incidents, with all parties of the organisation as well as Vendors.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

  • Deliver Top Services set-up Infrastructure Stability
  • As E2E member be single point of contact for the Local Market when it comes to Operations and support activities as well as key spoc to drive service improvements
  • Support, Validate and Plan Scheduled activities for Security patching as well as Marketing release.
  • Accountable to feedback to different tree of the organisation, strategic improvements for designed solutions adopting improvements and best practices.
  • Accountable for supporting service migrations.
  • Accountable for making Local Market aware of business risk due to Technical issues and suggest solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with Local Market SPOC, Application Owners and Application Support teams.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

  • Deep Knowledge about IT and Network Infrastructure, Architecture and Technology in datacentre environments.
  • Awareness of Business needs and ITIL processes.
  • Understanding of business needs.
  • Team working spirit and multicultural behaviour.
  • Open to people easy to interact with different level of people up to management.
  • Good communication skills in verbal, written and formal presentation formats.
  • Able to lead a technical community

Must have technical / professional qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT organizations
  • University degree or higher education
  • Ability to collaborate in virtual and international teams
  • Deep OS Unix or DB Skills
  • 5+ years’ experience in operating & planning as well design of IT infrastructure in Datacenter environments, Server/Storage/DB/Network
  • Fluent in English with ability to communicate at all levels, dealing with multicultural environments.
  • Mission critical infrastructure knowledge
  • Oracle dataguard RMAN and ZFS technologies
  • Oracle Exadata infrastructure

Key performance indicators

  • Increase service stability through timely remediation of notified Security alert.
  • Reduce P1 incident on top services by enabling proactive remediation
  • Support Customer and platform teams to enable Service  transformation targets by not impacting production environments
