With us you will…

 

 

Manage the implementation of customer projects, which includes the management of a team of project managers and co-ordinators, sometimes spread over across multiple regions.


•    Working either as part of a program or a stand alone project: 

  • Form part of the overall Programme Team, taking responsibility and ownership for the successful delivery of a specific project within the program, or
  • Owning and leading the successful delivery of a single stand-alone project

 

It is the function of the Project Manager to interface with Vodafone and Customer project teams to ensure that the Services are delivered to the agreed upon specifications.  The Project Manager also manages the Services and Project activities of the 3rd party vendors’ team members delivering the programme.

 

•    The Project Manager shall be responsible for the following:

  • The overall owner for Project delivery and Project support issues/escalations within the scope of the Project. 
  • Participating in Project Definition Workshop and regular project meetings between Vodafone, Customer and 3rd party vendors.
  • Jointly develop and Maintain a Master Schedule and Communications Plan
  • Creation of a Master Project Contact List and Escalation Plan
  • Creation of a Change Control process and managing changes/variations
  • Proactively anticipate project delays and issues whenever possible
  • Working with 3rd party vendors and customer as required to develop contingencies, as the project requires
  • Initiating Status meetings and participate in regularly scheduled Project meetings via conference calls
  • Ensuring the development and delivery of an Implementation Plan to complete the delivery of the project
  • Ensuring the delivery of all agreed upon Deliverables
  • Managing any problems / issues that may arise
  • Managing overall Project Invoicing and ensure its accuracy
  • Administering all governance functions into Vodafone and its partners
  • Management of programme risk
  • Management of overall project plans as well as localised country plans for delivery
  • Dotted Line management of team members
  • Reporting and governance to all stakeholders
  • Ensures adherence to project standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Responsible for maintaining relationships with customer / carrier/supplier and Vodafone to ensure smooth deliveries.
  • Provides direction, motivation and support to the project team
  • Tracks the progress of the program/projects and Presents project status to executive level 
  • Escalate the programme/project level issues/potential risks to executive level through formal presentations/ escalations

Job Responsibility

 

  • Provide strong project assurance, covering reporting, governance, clear tracking and measurement of all deliverables, change control and risk management 
  • Working with the Program and Project Leads, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while ensuring all team members uphold and adhere to the program and company's standards throughout each project's development and execution.
  • Set, maintain and measure standards and procedures that will help the program/project operate smoothly, complete on time, and result in quality deliverables
  •  Analyzing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
  • Provide clear, regular reporting for the Program leads to support the ongoing steering and management of the program

 

 

We need you to have…

 

•    Telecommunications background – especially Infrastructure Delivery management
•    Implementation of delivery methodology in complex, high value project environments
•    Stakeholder management - capable of building and maintaining key relationships with both client and internal stakeholders
•    Able to lead and motivate a team
•    Ability to manage non-standard projects and adapt 
•    Minimum of 10 years’ experience in delivery, at least 5 as Project Manager
 

 

Technical / professional qualifications: 


•    MSP or Prince2 or PMP
