Role Purpose

As IT Solution Architect in the Vodafone Digital Engineering team, you will be responsible for the design and the successful delivery of new digital solutions. 
It's both a strategic role, and also a very technically-detailed position at times - with practical project delivery on the one hand, vs enterprise-scale application architecture on the other. You'll talk advantage of cloud-based application development to bring new solutions involving the design of new architectural blueprints to apply either locally in Vodafone Italy and worldwide in Vodafone Group, as well as piloting new cutting-edge technologies to be adopted by the company. 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

•    Design and articulate solutions at a technical level and a management level, often piloting the solution with cutting-edge technologies 
•    Coordinate the design of the solutions with distributed teams across Vodafone Group, interacting with Technology Security Officer, Enterprise Architects, Project Managers and Business teams, to meet all the requirements before the delivery
•    Follow the end-to-end of the design process, from the brainstorming with the Business to the implementation of the LLD. Review and respond to detailed business requirements while documenting your architecture and taking advantage of your chapter advices
•    Work in a flexible chapter, deployed across several Centers of Excellence, to meet project deadlines and share the architecture blueprints. Also working close to PO and dev team to ensure solution successful delivery
•    Technology changes rapidly and a part of your job will be to keep up with it. Newer technological concepts such as cloud computing, blockchain, or machine learning change how organization’s work and have a large impact on their competitiveness. To be successful and valued by the business, you should keep an open mind and always look out for new technologies

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

•    Experience with Java, Python, .NET as a software engineer, experience with Jenkins, Ansible and Terraform as a preferential qualification. Knowledge of REST principles and DevOps best practices
•    Experience with major public cloud providers (AWS, MS Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
•    Experience in the practical design and implementation of microservices architectures within private, public or hybrid-cloud approach
•    Experience as a software developer, being able to lead the correct implementation of the architecture
•    Experience with common full and headless CMS (nice-to-have) 

Must have technical / professional qualifications

•    Fluent English 
•    Good understand of business analysis techniques (nice-to-have)
•    Experience in documenting architectures in C4 Model (nice-to-have)
•    AWS Certified Solution Architect (nice-to-have)
•    Azure Certified Solution Architect (nice-to-have)
•    Google Professional Cloud Architect (nice-to-have)
•    Academic Background: University degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD) in a STEM field. Equivalent experience il welcome and will be evaluated accordingly. 
•    2+  years in the same role (Solution Architect) or 4+ years working as a Software Developer or Dev Lead

Key performance indicators

•    T-NPS on key customer journeys
•    Number of new/updated features released per quarter
•    Number of new technical enablers released per quarter
