IoT requires Customer Solution Managers to develop and execute Vodafone’s IoT strategy for large bids, provide feedback from customer engagements to improve our leading platform capabilities further, drive co-creation and create a differentiated customer delivery model for bespoke IoT solutions. 

The key purpose of the IoT Customer Solutions team in the VBPS IoT Practice is to ensure that we deliver value to customers as a TechComs Company while using our resources in the most effective way.
This role will report into the Senior Manager IoT Customer Solutions and is accountable to deliver impact assessments and bespoke customer solutions within a cross functional team. You will manage large bids, analyse requirements technically and build custom solutions. 

The role will work directly with customers and in the intersection of sales, technical pre-sales and engineering with a high degree of collaboration across the IoT Engineering teams in Managed Connectivity, Digital Services and Strategic Partnerships as well as other teams in VBPS (e.g. VBTS), OpCo’s and senior stakeholders across IoT and Vodafone Business – and in essence a trusted adviser to our customers from technology perspective!


The candidate will need to build up relationships and work closely with the sales, portfolio teams, customers, and partners. Externally, the candidate is required to be a thought leader in IoT understanding the market dynamics and knowledgeable in developing partnership opportunities, as well as having strong influencing and relationship management skills. They will have the ability to work with partners to develop synergistic opportunities and identify new revenue streams within these new relationships and service offerings.
 

A Customer Solution Manager will act as the Technical Product Owner (TPO) as a liaison between the customer, sales, product management and the Scrum Team, ensuring business requirements are defined and prioritized to the development team. The TPO acts as the ‘bridge’ between customer desires and capabilities of the technology.
The TPO works with the development and engineering teams to make the requirements reality.

Core competencies:

  • Hands-on knowledge of IoT systems and processes
  • Hands-on experience in IoT solution designs, implementation and issue resolution
  • IoT requirements engineering & solution design experience for complex IoT Solutions incl. hardware, connectivity, and applications
  • Understanding of application, server, and network security and compliance requirements
  • Experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development life cycle
  • Experience with Network protocols and Network Infrastructure- Expertise in sales and financial processes and techniques as well as leading international cross-functional teams using agile methodologies
  • Manage a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Clear understanding of working in a large multinational matrix organization, with a demonstrable leadership ability to make things happen across multiple local Operating Companies
  • Knowledge of the IoT market and main customer needs
  • Outstanding customer and stakeholder management skills 
  • Technical IoT Presales experience.


What you bring

  • Educated to BSc/MSc degree level in Engineering.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to calibrate own style to lead, engage and motivate interdisciplinary teams and achieve objectives.
  • Excellent influencing, presentation, negotiation, organisational & communication skills (both written and spoken).
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
