Design to Cost Manager Hardware

The Design2Cost (D2C) function was created in January 2017 to shift Vodafone’s focus from Price negotiation to total Cost and Value creation. Our Design2Cost function has transformed the way our Supply Chain thinks and operates and aims to embed Cost and Value creation consciousness into the DNA of the entire Vodafone organisation. Recognised not only within Vodafone, in the last 12 months the team has won global awards from Procurement Leaders and CIPS for its transformative approach. Within the Design2Cost (D2C) team you will conduct End-to-End teardowns of a wide range of different types of Products procured by Vodafone; identify their Cost drivers, develop bottom-up Cost-analysis and process maps, identify waste, develop optimisation proposals and use your findings to support negotiation strategy. 
You will
•    Plan and execute end-to-end teardowns across all Vodafone hardware categories (Networks / IT and Enterprise / Products & Services), including identification of key Cost drivers and processes
•    Estimate bottom-up should-Cost using expert tools
•    Prepare, plan, and conduct idea generation workshops to identify product optimisation opportunities
•    Support supplier negotiations
•    Keep stakeholders and management informed on status, issues and results
•    Act as Center of Excellence for the holistic D2C methodology by, for example, providing training and advice as needed to colleagues, and driving D2C methodology throughout Vodafone’s Supply Chain Management organisation across the world 
It would be nice if you have…
•    Lean toolkit and Project management skills
•    Teardown and Cost modelling experience
•    Programming skills, Machine Learning experience
•    Distinct analytical and problem solving skills
You must have…
•    A university degree or equivalent experience
•    Sound electronic or electromechanical engineering knowledge, ideally combined with procurement or commercial know-how
•    Process analysis and optimisation capabilities 
•    Applied thinking and stakeholder management skills
•    Capability to end-to-end manage projects and to drive activities independently
•    A change-ready attitude and are open to creating new ways of working  #groupresourcing
