Vodafone Group Luxembourg: Supply Chain /Innovation /Roaming Services
Duration
: 12 months
Start Date: 1st September 2021
Location: Luxembourg (You must have the right to work in Luxembourg for the duration of your placement)

What we’re looking for


•    To apply, you must be in your 2nd year of a 3 year programme or 3rd year of a 4 year programme and be able to take on a full 12 month placement in this coming summer. You must be available to start on 1st September 2021.
•    You must have no more than 1 year’s industry experience before applying for this programme – this does not include part time work, summer internships or university studies.
•    A strong communicator who is driven, energetic and exhibits lots of initiative. 
•    The ability to demonstrate creativity, resilience, adaptability and a hunger for development.  
•    Exhibit curiosity, passion and aptitude for technology, how things work and the future of digital
•    Strong academic performance in Supply Chain, Technology, Innovation, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or other relevant course. 
•    Fluent in English. Verbal and written. (A second language is an asset, particularly Spanish, Italian & German)
•    Proficient knowledge of word, powerpoint and excel (pivot tables & V-Look Ups an advantage)
 

Our programme in Luxembourg has 3 business lines which students can choose one from and will be asked to state, as a preference, during the application process. We will do our best to match you to the most appropriate role to your skills, capabilities and career aspirations.  The business lines are:

 

Supply Chain

 

The Vodafone Procurement Company is responsible for all strategic activities across the Vodafone Group in areas of procurement offering synergies, expert knowledge and negotiation skills to drive cost efficiencies in the provision of goods and services from suppliers. 
We have 300+ employees of almost 50 different nationalities in our business of which approximately 200 are Category Managers: strategic sourcing experts who work with the SCM teams across the globe to leverage Vodafone Global Scale (>€17bn annual volume) to achieve word-class SCM efficiency and effectiveness, recognized by receiving various and regular awards in the industry.
You could undertake a placement in one of our 4 category purchasing teams (Networks, Information Technology & Enterprise, Commercial & Services or Products & Services) or in our SCM Enablement team who provide and maintain innovative digital tools and operational processes to enable and monitor spend analysis, supplier performance management, contract management and Health & Safety requirements. 

 

Tomorrow Street 

 

Tomorrow Street is Vodafone’s global innovation accelerator, created in partnership with Luxembourg’s national incubator Technoport. We host and support the next generation of strategic suppliers for Vodafone and its partners, with a special focus on Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. By leveraging our position at the heart of Vodafone’s international network in Luxembourg, Tomorrow Street is a highly powerful growth engine to propel mature startups to the next level. 

Candidates that undertake placements in Tomorrow Street will work with the passionate team of corporate, entrepreneurial and technical experts that scout for, assess and allocate appropriate start-ups to join the incubator. You will have exposure to some of the most innovative technology suppliers of the future and gain an understanding of how corporate giants can assist start-ups to bring their technologies to every corner of the globe.  


Vodafone Roaming Services (VRS)

 

VRS ensure over 750 million mobile customers can confidently connect abroad and enjoy voice and data services. We are Vodafone's central wholesale roaming team. We manage the contracts and technical connectivity with more than 650 foreign networks in almost every country of the world. We steer customers to the best available network and monitor their voice and data quality, around the clock. We negotiate roaming rates and traffic volumes with our roaming partners and settle the resulting payments with them.

The placements here will give exposure and offer learning opportunities within Contract Management, Negotiations, Data Analysis and BAU activities within the wholesale team. You will be part of the team that liaise with our global partners to ensure our customers are constantly and effectively connected wherever they are in the world.
