Description

Role: Head of Technology Resourcing 
Location:  London

As a member of the global Resourcing Community the ideal candidate will take both strategic and operational lead for Technology hiring at Vodafone. 
This includes, in the immediate-term, responsibility for organisation design and leadership of the central resourcing team that supports hiring for Vodafone Group entities to so that they can operate as Technology domain centric high impact squads.
In the mid-to-long term, the primary goal of this hire is to successfully deliver on our Tech2025 ambition to hire up to 7,000 Software Engineers across Vodafone.  To achieve this, the successful candidate will align with all Vodafone markets on a “One Tech Hiring” approach with the objective of enabling an and  innovative focussed approach to attract, engage and activate quality Software Engineering talent across all our markets.    
In parallel the ideal candidate will be an operational excellence wizard, inspiring and coaching both onshore and offshore resources to deliver an unmatched employee experience utilising the latest digital technologies and tools. 
 

 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 
-Accountable for direct delivery of Group hiring across all of Technology for J-F band
-Leads the Software Engineering chapter accountable for the global approach for scalable SWE hiring from sourcing through to selection.
-Acts as Scrum Master/Lead with local market resourcing teams to share best practice from different markets and drive consistency in reporting and data insights.
-Primary interface into Technology for resourcing.
-Takes business forecast/demand and translates into team capacity planning 
-Owns all resourcing processes on behalf of Technology, continually identifying opportunities to transform to deliver excellence customer service and performance, in line with global direction and location strategy. 
-Identifies and applies where appropriate, external best practice 
-Leads, engages, and develops a team of resourcing professionals, defining team operating standards, setting direction and inspiring and enabling performance.
-Accountable for managing and delivering to resourcing budget, managing relationships with third party providers and shared services

 

 

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
-Customer oriented mindset.
-Experience in working in an agile set up, building and delivering through high impact squads.
-Experience in building and leading technology / SWE recruitment for a global organisation with a heavy focus on Digital/IT roles.
-Expertise in Software Engineering capabilities, trends in the markets, and where to find them. 
-Previous exposure to companies that have been through Digital transformation but that equally have scale and complexity to navigate. 
-Ability to evidence a data driven approach to problem solving and performance management, showing real impact rather than just delivery. 
-Ability to getting things delivered across markets through a matrix structure with a drive for results.
-Ability to lead a diverse team in a dynamic, high-change, high-uncertainty environment with strong focus on real execution and getting results from others.
-Experience in developing strategic proposals, with deep business interlock and influencing senior executives’ buy-in.
-Strong Change leadership, communication, engagement, influencing and decision-making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests.
