Role purpose: The External Communications Lead will take a leading role in driving the communications strategy for Vodafone Business, uncovering and telling the best stories to increase the awareness and reputation of Vodafone Business. The successful candidate will be able to support the delivery of multiple and varied external communications activities in line with the external communications plan. The role will report into the Senior Communications Manager and work closely with the extended marketing team in support of the wider Marketing & Communications priorities.

 

With us you will:
•    Support the delivery of communications/PR for Vodafone Business, that engage and influence b-to-b stakeholders worldwide.
•    Create high-quality, engaging and memorable corporate messaging and campaigns focused on business audiences, and directed at business and vertical media, pan-regional and global industry bodies, customers and other key enterprise influencers.
•    Ensure the VB Leadership Team is fully informed of relevant priorities and concerns associated with key External Communications topics and to advocate the priorities and concerns of VB in all engagement with the Group and market stakeholders
•    Establish and manage collaborative working practices with the Group Corporate Communications and External Affairs teams, and local market business marketing, brand and communication teams, ensuring effective communications channels and strong governance are maintained

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
•    Experience providing senior executives and teams across the business with communications counsel and best practices
•    Strong storytelling & communication skills, with excellent writing skills
•    Outstanding attention to detail
•    Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders of all levels
•    Work on all forms of communication platforms, including media relations and briefings, blogs, executive scripts. 
•    Self-starter: comfortable with ambiguity, able to identify priority areas of focus - and deliver high-quality and meaningful objectives - with minimal guidance. 
•    Highly collaborative: comfortable with matrix working.
•    Creative problem-solver with positive outlook 
•    Passionate about Communications
•    Significant experience in B2B communications, PR and media relations (agency or internal)
•    Experience in working with virtual teams across locations to achieve common objectives
•    Ability to manage high ambitions and conflicting goals from a wide range to stakeholders, to successfully reach impactful and pragmatic solutions 
•    Ability to work under (time) pressure with sometimes highly sensitive topics and / or in crisis 
•    Agency management experience
