What will you be doing?


The High value and Pay Monthly team is focused on growing Vodafone’s share within this valuable market by bringing to market innovative, challenger-oriented propositions.  These propositions bring together the best of Vodafone’s pay monthly mobile business.


As Commercial Manager - New Propositions you will be responsible for scanning the rapidly evolving mobile market for customer or capability opportunities that could deveop into new propositions to drive Vodafone market share and commercial performance. You will lead the scoping and scaling of these new opportunities and, once shortlisted, develop and drive the commercial and pricing thinking behind our new proposition and product offerings. These propositions cover the breadth of the pay monthly tribe, although primarily focused on core propositions (new handset, sim only and mobile broadband) your remit encompasses the wider portfolio including roaming & international, insurance, additional lines, watches/eSim and handset trade-in.


Responsibilities will include working with the proposition managers to understand and quantify the market opportunity, define key customer and market insights within the appropriate target audiences, then to develop commercially sound proposition strategies to unlock these opportunities and at the same time drive the pay monthly commercial priorities. Once the proposition is live in market, the commercial manager will evaluate its commercial and customer performance optimising using sales, operations and customer feedback.


Who are we looking for? 


  • A thorough understanding of the Pay Monthly market, including working in a commercial or financial role directly related to this market
  • Exceptional influencing skills, and a proven track record in driving business results where your personal impact can be seen
  • Track record of insight-led product or proposition development, where you put the customer at the heart of the change.  This can be across an acquisition and/or in-life management point of view
  • Experience developing business cases in collaboration with finance and strategy teams.
  • Proven ability to drive change at pace through a complex business and deal with multiple often demanding stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen & experience managing and implementing commercial change across the business
  • P&L management, forecasting and delivery
  • Commercial business case / strategic business casing experience either first hand or in support of finance colleagues
  • Experience evaluating market performance and tracking competitor developments
