The role of the Commercial Manager for Device Lifecycle Services is to lead the proposition development and drive the commercial performance of DLS products to achieve the business strategy and objectives across Vodafone markets. As a part of group product team, you will lead the DLS product life-cycle management and commercial success across Vodafone markets. You will identify areas of growth based on customer insights, and develop marketing propositions that appeal to customers and you will work very closely with local Product owners, group product and platform managers to execute the overall product strategy. In this role, you will be accountable for the commercial performance of the product and expected to grow the business rapidly.

This is highly visible and impactful role across Vodafone Group, a key element of the role is to have great communication skills and ensure close relation between various stakeholders, team members in Vodafone markets, Vodafone Group and other teams. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, can do attitude, ambition to drive big outcomes are key to success in this role..

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving and implementing the proposition and commercial strategy of Device Lifecycle Services to exceed the agreed target
  • Defining the proposition roadmap to underpin the vision and strategy through identification of key goals in line with business LRP
  • Ownership & accountability for the business commercials, P&L and revenue growth roadmap, across all channels (Retail, Digital, Telesales other)
  • Constantly look at new areas of growth for DLS and work closely with local/central team to influence and implement their implementation
  • Constantly monitor, track customer commercial results with local and group stakeholders to ensure all targets are exceeded
  • Analyse market trends, perform competitive analysis and constantly propose new ways of increasing customer numbers, revenues, margin uplift and overall customer happiness in specific country
  • Understand channel structures; work closely with local/central stakeholders to prioritize DLS in all channels.
  • Use analytics and business performance data from local and group teams to support growth decisions specific to country (marketing, product, channel, etc),
  • Engage with all senior stakeholders as a champion of the product 
  • Work with Squad and delivery team (ART) to develop best-in-class product experience (UI/UX) and proposition for customers to exceed commercial targets

Core Competencies, Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience defining and driving a product commercial strategy through a differentiated proposition  (5 years +)
  • In-depth knowledge of product life-cycle management, digital products, subscription-based models – experience of trade-in and financing of devices a plus (5+ years)
  • Deep understanding of driving revenue streams, pricing strategies, and translating customer insights into propositions (5+ years)
  • Excellent ability to influence and navigate in a highly complex environment, whilst maintaining entrepreneurialism and delivering strong leadership to the teams
  • A combination of strong commercial, business acumen and technical knowledge from a product standpoint, with the ability to bridge any gaps between the two.
  • Ability to operate at the highest level within Vodafone to determine strategy plan and investments, interfacing with SLT across OpCo’s but also externally with big tech players and partners, coaching and mentoring cross-functional multinational teams.
  • Relevant education (business degree) and post-graduate experience in appropriate business sector e.g. insurance, fintech, start-up, telecommunications etc.
  • Excellent programme management skills with a can do attitude

Must Have Technical/Professional Qualifications

  • Product management of digital products
  • Proposition development & Commercial Management of Devices/Services Products
  • Understanding of agile methodologies, particularly with a view of product and SAFe
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with high credibility/presence and instant positive impact
