Who you are:

You are a strong outstanding colleague with a focus on delivering a first class service to your key stakeholders.  In this role you will have full ownership and responsibility for the reporting, analysis and planning of Operating costs for HR, CEO, and Strategy business units. You will interlock with Group Finance on Operating costs for Group units.  You will be responsible for reporting on VF Irelands total employment costs, through engagement with HR, Financial Controllers, & Finance Business partners. You will drive a cost conscious culture within the business and provide value add analysis to ensure that cost owners deliver within their cost budgets.
 

Your team:

You will work as part of the Opex Team, reporting to the Opex Manager. You will provide dedicated support to HR on Employment costs, who have responsibility for delivering on the total company number. You will also work closely with the HR & Strategy senior leadership teams and cost owners to ensure costs are being managed. In addition, you will also work across Finance, including the Commercial Analysis & Planning team and the Financial Reporting team.
 

The next challenge for you:

 

Cost Leadership

• Work cross functionally with HR on total company employment costs to delivery on the targets embedded in our budget.
• Work cross functionally with the HR and Strategy business owners to drive the Fit for Growth programme and deliver the cost targets embedded in our LRP
• Work cross functionally with the HR and Strategy business owners to drive Digital savings and deliver the Digital cost targets embedded in our LRP

 

Monthly Reporting and Performance Analysis

• Work closely with Fin Ops to review and finalise month end Opex results, escalating any risks/issues to Opex Manager.
• Support the Opex Manager in understanding monthly performance and key drivers of costs
• Monthly management and analysis of HR and Strategy Opex through review and analysis with the BU Directors, leadership teams, including monthly presentation to both the HLT and Strategy LT
• Lead monthly / quarterly Opex reviews with key cost center owners
• Work closely with the HR Business Partners to review monthly employment costs.
• Monthly reporting on the F4F initiatives (Digital / Radical Simplification) to the Opex Manager.
 

Planning and Forecasting

• Lead the development of rolling forecast for HR & Strategy.
• Lead and guide the BU Directors and key Business stakeholders through the Opex 9+15 planning process.
• Work closely with HR on 9+15 planning for employment costs, and Headcount loading to HFM.
• Work closely with the Commercial Analysis and Planning Team to ensure that the forecast and plan are submitted on time.

 

Business Partnering

• Strong collaboration with HR on total Employment costs.
• Continuous business partnering in order to drive cost conscious culture within business units.
• Build relationships with business owners and BU Directors in order to gain commercial insight which will affect future cost trends.
• Work with and support business owners on business cases involving these cost lines.

 

Continuous Process Improvement

• As part of the wider Opex team identify and drive opportunities for Opex process improvement/efficiency
• Play a key role in implementation of process improvements

What you need:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with 4+ years PQE
• Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Excel front ends
• Planning, forecasting and budgeting experience
• Strong Interpersonal & Communication skills

 

What else should you demonstrate:

• Working knowledge of SAP, Hyperion Enterprise and Essbase would be advantageous.
