Role purpose:
The Solution Domain Expert (SDE) is a customer focused solution design role that is responsible (depends on the local Opco structure) for customer requirements capture, solution design and defining the cost of customer solutions (with a repeatability perspective) in the areas of Digital Apps. SaaS and Managed Services. In this role, you will understand the customer requirements, no matter their size, and design solutions leveraging the Digital Apps portfolio, the whole C&S set of capabilities, and when required to involve Vodafone connectivity and IoT services. The SDE will design solutions that deliver to customers’ expectations and ensure the technical solution links to the cost case for proposal and contract. The Solutions Expert will be expected to attend as and when required customer meetings at the customer, partner or Vodafone location. The Solutions Domain Expert will work in close collaboration with solution domains experts in the Managed Infrastructure & Security Go to Market teams, the Portfolio 
Team Digital Apps, the C&S Sales Teams and in the local Vodafone markets to create compelling solutions for customers with an increasing level of repeatability and standardization. The SDE identifies repeatable Solutions and works for new Solutions close together with the Portfolio Team Digital Apps. The SDE works close together with all C&S Markets to understand the different market needs. The SDE is specialized, at least, in one Digital App as a Subject Matter Expert. His knowledge is here “state of the art” and he has a good network in e.g. the organization of the vendor, so he can support Opportunities / Deals with his knowledge and help other SDEs. You will be ambitious, innovation hungry with a customer first mentality. You will have a good balance of technical and commercial acumen. You will also support customer solution development embracing new technologies and economic models as and when required. You will have good communication Skills to explain technical Solutions on different management level (customer, Vodafone).


With us you will

  • To create, develop, design and describe, small, medium, mid-market and enterprise Digital Apps solutions in line with the evolving business needs of Vodafone. 
  • Maintain communications with the deal team and the customer through the process to ensure that dates, and any issues understood, captured and agreed. 
  • Engage with key partner (for example Microsoft) and Vodafone architects to address customer solution requirements with their expertise and solutions. 
  • Ensure that the technical solution links to the cost case requirements in the proposal and contract

Apply if you have

  • 5+ years’ experience in dealing with small, mid-market and corporate customers in a solution design or consultancy role focused on applications 
  • Experience of operating at a management level with a record of accomplishment in identifying and influencing key decision makers. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to produce quality documentation to support bid generation and contractual delivery in English and any of the following languages Spanish/Italian/German 
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and innovation hungry. 
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and as trusted team player.
