Digital Service Architect

Location: Düsseldorf or Home Office

Role purpose:

As a member of the Global MEC & Cloud Transformation Service Architecture Practice, within Vodafone’s Cloud & Security Business, the Service Architect is an ITIL based, customer centric role, responsible for ensuring service models are built with customer requirements and experience, at their core. 

Taking a holistic view at all times, the Service Architect will have commercial acumen and awareness of Industry trends & best practice- able to use these to leverage multi-cloud services from internal & external partners & vendors whilst guiding customers to the existing Vodafone standard Cloud Portfolio.

The Service Architect will have & maintain deep technical knowledge of cloud service models, products and tools, with an ability to absorb large volumes of complex information, sometimes within   aggressive timescales. It is a key skill of the Service Architect to be able to challenge customers and peers to ensure gaps are identified and plugged, whilst balancing exceptional stakeholder management skills to drive to robust service deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have a proven collaborative working ethos while being able to develop service models across multiple functions. The Practice works with a squad model to support solutions, with squad members being assembled according to the needs of the solution and the outputs required, so you must be resilient and versatile to ensure the squad and ultimately the practice, are able to deliver to the highest standards.


With us you will:

  • To architect service models and document the service elements of enterprise customer solutions whilst ensuring that customer requirements are met in a cost effective and commercially sound manner 
  • Become a trusted adviser for customers, ensuring appropriate and timely communications, validating service-related requirements against VF standards and guiding customers to the most appropriate standard solutions where possible.
  • Engage and collaborate with internal and external partners to address customer service requirements.   Identify key stakeholders in partners for sign off /agreement.      
  • Ensuring governance and impact assessment processes with stakeholders are adhered to (as relates to Service Architecture & Service Design)


Apply if you have:

  • Global and multi partner experience in dealing with corporate customers in a service design or consultancy role in a pre-sale’s environment
  • Experience of operating at all management levels with a record of accomplishment in identifying, influencing and negotiating with key decision makers.
  • Excellent German and English language communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to produce quality documentation to support bid generation and contractual delivery for internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of operating in a complex technical, ITIL environment, with experience of   working with AGILE, Design Thinking and other methodologies. 
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, innovation hungry who can be both a team player and individual contributor.   
  • Intermediate level (or above) ITIL qualification with an in depth understanding of previous versions and current
  • Extensive work experience within complex global IT environments with a clear understanding of Operational Support Systems (OSS).    
  • Experience in architecting multi tower / multi product / multi-platform solutions encompassing technologies in IT/Cloud/Edge/IoT/Connectivity
