International Direct Tax Team Leader
 

As an International Direct Tax Team Leader you will support multiple country’s direct tax compliance and optimal tax efficiency in line with the Group tax risk strategy while leading a team of 7. You will have a key role in driving direct tax process standardization projects and implementing new digital tax solutions, which are the main strategic initiatives of the Tax Team.
 
What you will do:

 

People/Team management 
•    Deliver the direct tax Core Business Model for Vodafone entities, ensure direct tax compliance with the relevant country’s governance framework with primary focus on withholding tax, corporate tax and benefit-in-kind analysis.
•    Manage a team of 7 people, create an empowering and inspiring culture within the team
•    Take responsibility for allocating tasks/duties within the team and ensuring cohesive team working.
•    Conduct reviews of direct tax deliverables
•    Supporting team members in tax professional issues
•    Motivate the team to achieve challenging targets and high-performance standards

 

Stakeholder management
•    Build relationships with a variety of Direct Tax Managers and Tax Teams across Vodafone’s footprint and liaise effectively with Group Tax
•    Act upon feedback from customers, including escalation management
•    Identify potential sensitive issues and escalate to the appropriate level to provide quality service/advice in accordance with agreed service standards

Process improvement
•    Drive standardization and improvement of direct tax processes through the use of tax technology and knowledge sharing in the team
•    Contribute to the Tax strategy supporting global initiatives, while continuously looking for and executing improvement.

 

Communication with impact 
•    Understand and promote Vodafone values, act as a role model for the team
•    Make leading contribution in team meetings on specialist/ technical materials.
•    Be and active member of the Tax Management Team.

 

Join us if you have:
•    4-5 years of experience gained in taxation/accounting, deep understanding of direct tax
•    1-2 years of people management experience
•    Fluent English language knowledge
•    University/College degree in accounting/ economics
•    Chartered/Certified Accountant or Tax Advisory qualification is highly preferred
•    SAP knowledge is an advantage
•    Exceptional customer service mentality, flexible approach and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
