Data Catalogue Specialist – Data and Analytics 

Your role in a nutshell: 

  • Vodafone is going through a major transformation into a data-driven and technology-enabled organization. A key element of this transformation is the adoption of a Data Governance Framework, which is largely supported by the implementation of a Data Catalogue solution for the whole company.  
  • You will be leading the design of the Vodafone Data Catalogue, gathering requirements and applying our existing policies into practice to identify best next steps and feed into the tool roadmap. You will also contribute towards Data Catalogue documentation, building frameworks to support the design and implementation, and enable the delivery of the solution across all of Vodafone’s Local Markets.  
  • What you will love in your new role: 
  • Designing and implementing metadata structures and Data Governance workflows in the Collibra Data Catalogue. 
  • Working with stakeholders at manager level to ensure that the solution meets the requirements of both Group functions and Local Market teams. 
  • Forging strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across the organisation to report/inform, gain alignment, unlock and resolve complex business challenges. 
  • Support the end-to-end delivery projects aligned to the Strategic and Business Outcomes/Deliverables & to agreed time, cost and quality criteria. 
  • Implementing the Data Governance Strategy, operating model, roadmap and maturity model 

 

What you will bring to the team: 

  • Design the Data Catalogue solution in Collibra to be delivered across the company. 
  • Engage with Local Markets and Group Functions to gather requirements, identify pain points and define improvements to feed back into the Data Catalogue solution roadmap. 
  • Act as Metadata SME, showcasing and supporting adoption of best-in-class metadata practices.  
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Data Governance programme by reporting on the Data Catalogue adoption status and best next steps. 
  • Escalate risks and issues to the Data Governance Programme managers to support the long-term implementation of the framework. 

 

You must have: 

  • Demonstrable experience working with Collibra as a Data Catalogue tool and implementations for multi-national organisations. 
  • A “strategic mind-set”, i.e. the ability to focus upon the strategic objectives that the programme/project is intended to deliver and make changes as necessary to continue to meet those objectives.  
  • A strong understanding of data management principles and technologies. 
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable navigating across a large complex organisation and acting as a representative for cultural change. Experience in advocating the value of solid data strategy. 
  • A successful track record of delivering complex customer projects within a fast-paced ICT or Telecommunications industry 
  • The ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders 
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving and issue resolution 
  • A keen interest in continuous improvement and digitization
