Business Portfolio Manager 
for our Technology Department

Your place in the team
Ensure VFHU has a solid pipeline of Business initiatives (Business Roadmap) and rigorous project management discipline to deliver these projects.

 

You will be involved in the following tasks
People management
•    Selecting, developing and managing the Business Portfolio team (6-8 internal, 2-5 external project managers)
•    Empowering and inspiring the Business Portfolio team to deliver successful projects and programmes of Business Portfolio
•    Train/coach project and programme managers to adhere to the project management standards, thus ensuring all projects in Business Portfolio define and track project deliverables, scope, resources, timing and budget in a consistent fashion

 

Project/programme management
•    Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of IT projects or programmes in Business Portfolio, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities that align with organisational practice
•    Managing Business Portfolio stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests
•    Identifying and developing frameworks and methodologies that ensure management of projects and programmes in Business Portfolio will be comprehensive and consistent across different initiatives
•    Gather, organize and analyse project execution data and prepare related status reports and decision materials for all stakeholders (including weekly, monthly and ad-hoc management updates) on Business Portfolio 
•    Recommending how financial and other resources should be allocated amongst change initiatives to optimise the organisation’s return on investment

Requirement and benefit management
•    Determining the best means of satisfying requirements within the context of project and programme in Business Portfolio objectives and constraints i.e. developing solutions
•    Preparing, gaining approval of, refining and updating business cases in Business Portfolio, that justify the initiation or continuation of projects and programmes in terms of benefits, costs and risks

 

Resource and schedule management
•    Preparing and maintaining schedules of project and programme activities and events, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements of Business Portfolio
•    Developing, implementing and updating resources allocations plans (other than finance) needed for projects and programmes in Business Portfolio, taking account of availabilities and scheduling

 

Budgeting and cost control
•    Developing and agreeing budgets for projects and programmes in Business Portfolio and managing actual and forecast costs against them
•    Planning and controlling finances of projects and programmes in Business Portfolio as a means of driving performance and as part of the organisation’s overall financial management


We are looking for you if you have

•    At least 7 years experience in a multinational business environment, preferably telecommunications
•    People management experience
•    Business or technology degree (at least BA, MBA preferred).
•    Familiarity with project management methodology and processes
•    Excellent interpersonal skills
•    Ability to professionally interact with a diverse project team, managers, VF group 
•    Capable of resolving conflicts, good influencing skills
•    Facilitation, communication skills, creativity
•    Effectively manage changes (environment and project)
•    Good analytical and strategic skills and focus
•    Strategic outlook, attention to detail
•    Excellent presentation, written and verbal communications skills
•    Proactive, can work individually but very good team player
•    Able to synthesize complicated concepts and to simplify the complex issues
•    Fluent English
