Your day to day

The role owner will be responsible for integrating the platform end-2-end,  leading the operational activities of the platform, ensuring operational best practices, defining and driving operational standards and close collaboration with the development team to introduce DevOps best practices to continuously improve the level of automation in the deployment and operations of the service

The DevOps Engineer will closely collaborate with the Service Lifecyle Manager to ensure the continuous availability of the platform and a high-quality end-2-end service to our customers

Accountable for quality, reliability and performance of assigned platforms and components, the DevOps Engineer needs both analytical as well as hands-on engineering and IT skills.

Up to date knowledge about Cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and Monitoring approaches is key.

Activities

  • BAU and Complex investigations – Lead investigations impacting production and non-production environment making sure the committed platform SLAs are not breached. Continuously advance and optimize platform monitoring and failure alerting using data driven insights and best industry practices
  • Lead Operations Activities – Support in acceptance testing, go-live of new components for all operational activities, and liaise with relevant parties as required. Lead Operations in performance Assessments and Capacity Planning. Close involvement and tracking of 3rd line vendor support against agreed KPI’s.
  • Tooling and Technologies – Assess and introduce latest technologies in the DevOps space to make sure the platform is a lead in the operational space and leverages latest advancements.

Skills

  • Deep understanding of the technology stack and digital services as well as upcoming technology trends especially in the DevOps Space
  • Expert in managing cloud environments with recognized knowledge (certifications) on AWS
  • solid understanding of, and experience with infrastructure as code, kubernetes clusters and application deployment automation and testing
  • Must haves: Jenkins and CI/CD, Scripting Languages, AWS,  Instana, Kubernetes/Docker, MongoDB
  • It would be of advantage: Splunk, Azure, Java, Web Servers,
