Your day to day:

Engineering and Delivery of IP LAN (Gi/Service LAN) network, OpCo Data Centres and Office IT network capabilities that support reliable and secure hosted and collaborative services across the whole Vodafone Network in Europe with focus on the countries of the respective cluster.  

Accountable for the Low Level Design, network implementation, optimization, testing and quality assurance activities in the Local Markets IP LAN & Office IT network and Data Centres (Main managed NW elements: routers, switches, load balancers, CGNAT, DNS, VPN concentrators, Firewalls, PKI, Proxies and services implementation over them). The local market designs should follow central TSO architecture guidelines. 

Responsible for IP connectivity design based on customer demand.  

Manage relationships with local stakeholders in the cluster countries, in particular network operations, IT, CTSO Office and other local teams as well as GNE&D teams for the implementation of configuration activities, special projects or the handling of emergency situations. 

Optimisation activities within IP LAN & Office network Data Core in these countries and the performance analysis and improvements devised as necessary.

  • Local in-country implementation of the Data Core IP LAN & Integrity Evolution Plan 
  • Align and steer local engineering implementation in the cluster countries to the regional design and roadmap 
  • Execution of the regional engineering strategy for IP LAN and Integrity 
  • Ownership of the country IP LAN Low Level Designs as well as define templates, modularize and industrialize configuration items and their implementation. 
  • Deploy the network fit for purpose including to understand how our services/applications layer will work across the network (capacity, capability, utilisation) 
  • Deliver optimal implementation process that ensures quality. 
  • Decrease the design and implementation costs and to achieve a harmonized & simplified network infrastructure 
  • IP LAN & Integrity budget execution in the cluster countries 
  • Defining, planning and scheduling activities and interventions and support the Change Management Process 
  • Quality assurance and optimisation in the  design and implementation process 
  • Support, Test & Accept / Audit  the deployed solution 
  • Handover the accepted solution to Operations and Maintenance 
  • Document test & QA activities 
  • NW harmonisation and standardization across Europe: 
  • Harmonize IP LAN & office network environments and services, enable seamless access over a converged wired/wireless network to global IT systems and provide guest services for external partner services as well as Third party connectivity. 
  • Drive network standards across Local markets 
  • Drive + Support Network innovations

With these skills, you are a great candidate:

  • Strategic insight into IP LAN (Gi/Service LAN) network and Office LAN network challenges, requirements and development issues and their impact on customer experience. 
  • Ability to help define and target a vision for Vodafone Office LAN networks and IP LAN (Gi/Service LAN) networks. 
  • Networks (TCP/IP, Protocols, Structures, Hardware, Security) 
  • Knowledge in the area of the installation and configuration of network components (Routers, Switches, VPN Gateways, Firewalls, Proxies and others) 
  • Knowledge in routing protocols, VOIP technology, WLAN technology, DHCP, DNS, AD 
  • Knowledge in network management and network analysis 
  • Knowledge in security (policies, encryption, Authentication, Authorization, Accounting, 802.1x, PKI, certificates)  
  • University degree: telecommunication degree with more than 3/5 years of experience. 
  • Solid knowledge of NW design / architecture and Office LAN experience  
  • Good analytical skills to address complexity of requirements, scenarios and change 
  • Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results/change 
  • Project management experience 
  • Good stakeholders’ management and established networking in the countries of the cluster.
