Role purpose:

- To integrate, provide and 24/7 operate cloud and virtualisation technology solutions for European Vodafone applications and customers. To plan and implement a growing set of
cloud platforms used to provide mission critical infrastructure services to Vodafone customers.
- Available to be on call 24/7 on a team rotating schedule, daily operations and virtual infrastructure implementation of the GDC Infrastructure and technologies across the
Vodafone Data Centre footprint. He is part of an international team that provide 24/7 service coverage, keep up to date managed objects for best performance, monitor and
implement customer requested solution.
- Knowledge of Cloud and NFV technologies is essential to properly manage the GDC networks and cloud solutions. Troubleshooting and network analysis capabilities are required for this role. Essential for the role are also soft skills as team player, basic understanding of project management and agile methodology, responsible attitude to actively drive activities to completion.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

- Deployment of core NFVi platform
- Define & deploy detailed HW configuration (e.g. HP, Dell, Huawei)
- HW profiles and network mappings
- Deploy ESXi, Platform Service Controller (PSC) and vCenters,configure clusters, configure Linux, AD and Windows/MSSQL support components
- Deploy and configure vCloud

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

Deep understanding of VMware Carrier Grade NFV Infrastructure (vCloud, ESXi, NSX)
- Networking knowledge (VMware NSX , Cisco)
- Storage SAN, NFS and SDS (EMC)
- HW installation &configuration (HPe, Dell)

- Good understanding of automation and orchestration of infrastructure to accelerate new services with VMware VCloud NFV
- Basic OS knowledge (Windows/UNIX)
- Basic database knowledge
- Basic core telco components (HLR, SMSC, etc)

Key performance indicators

- Complete LLD for the main VMware Components (ESXi, Datastore sizing, Distributed Virtual Switch (DVS) and portgroups configuration, NSX and distribution of vCloud components)

Implementation of LLD’s
- Operations and support
- Configure changes
- Deployment of network configurations (virtualized)
- Automation opportunities
- Deliver automation scripts

Must have technical/professional qualifications:

- University degree
- Desired vendor certifications VMWare (certificates for vSphere, NSX, vRealize ,vCenter, vCloud Director) HPE (certificates for datacentre, SDN and cloud solutions)
