Your day to day:

As a DC Network Manager you will play a key role in Technology _VOIS Romania’s growth and success, leading a large team of infrastructure/network engineers to help adopting new technologies and provide added value to our internal customers.

With these activities you will have a great impact on our business:
  • In this role, you will coordinate multiple teams that cover the full lifecycle of network infrastructure activities from design, implementation to operations, with a strong focus on transformational projects and adoption of SDN technologies.
  • While this role is mostly hands-off, our ideal candidate will have previous experience working as an Infrastructure Engineer, knows how to code, and is familiar with cloud computing concepts.
  • Drive, plan and implement the integration of SDN infrastructure in Vodafone’s central datacenters. The projects delivered by the team will have visibility at highest levels in the company and produce a great impact on our products and our customers.
  • Create and instill a team culture focused on operational excellence, but be equally agile and adopt an out-of-the box thinking. You will be required to simplify, standardize and challenge the status quo where needed.
  • Manage the performance and development of the team and drive their motivation and commitment.
  • Plan and execute department’s budget in-line with the service line strategy.
  • Deliver automation through orchestration workflows to optimize services.
  • Deliver against agreed operational KPIs and act as an escalation point for operational issues that might occur.
With these skills you are a great candidate:
  • BS/BT in Engineering or Computer Science with at least 5 years of technical experience;
  • At least 2 years as a People Manager of a technical team;
  • Experience working across time zones and managing a global teams would be considered a plus;
  • Demonstrated financial acumen. Experience in budgeting, forecasting and asset management;
  • Effective communication with the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders and with experience presenting the business side of technical topics to non-technical audiences;
  • ITIL v3 or v4 Certified;
  • CCNA, CCNP or CCIE preferred;
  • Excellent knowledge about IT Infrastructure, IP Network and Cloud Technologies;
  • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux, Virtualization, SDN, CISCO ACI, LAN/WAN, Load balancing, Firewall;
  • Experience with DevOps concept & agile methodologies;
  • Experience with automation and workflows (HP OO, VMWare VRA/VRO, Ansible, Python scripts, Terraform) would be considered a plus.
