As Big Data Solution Manager, you will lead a team which is responsible for Vodafone Turkey Big Data Environment design and development. That Big Data environment serves to all company needs like business decision making, investment decisions, customer insights and technology domains.


Accountabilities of the role are;
•    Leadership of the Big Data Solutions team, consisting of eight data engineers and developers 
•    Own the technical roadmap for evolving the data platform to support the future needs of the business. Own the full lifecycle of the Hadoop solution, including requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development  and deployment
•    Work closely with related business and technology teams to understand their Big Data needs and design relevant solutions for those needs
•    Help and guide the team to keep themselves up to date with new technology developments. Provide technical and managerial leadership in a team that designs and develops path-breaking large-scale cluster data processing systems
•    Manage budget of the domain 
•    Create and sustain required technical relations and partnership with vendors in Big Data domain
•    Work closely with Big Data Operations team to deliver the NFR requirements and to keep the environment stable, up and running. Support them to define the processes needed to achieve operational excellence and platform reliability
•    Coordinate and ensure an effective Big Data implementation, including refining standard data collection tools, scripting routine processes and (re)designing information products; managing effective information sharing and dissemination to all relevant stakeholders.
•    Act as focal point internally for Data Analytics Team
•    Provide thought leadership and mentoring to the data engineering team on how data should be stored and processed more efficiently and quickly at scale
•    Be the product owner of Big Data Agile Team



•    A minimum of 10 years of experience in management, architecture and software development, 5 years with experience in Data Analytics, building Data driven solutions and frameworks
•    Experience managing a team of 5+ people
•    Strong experience with developing and managing software, BI & Bigdata projects, vendors and platforms, especially Cloudera
•    Strong knowledge of at least one tabular data visualization / dashboard software, e.g. Tableau, R, PowerBI
•    Understanding of accountability towards beneficiary privacy and data protection
•    Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment and decisions
•    Excellent planning, coordination, monitoring and organizational skills
•    Experience in Agile Methodologies
•    Ability to work collaboratively and manage teams
•    A good sense of understanding and capacity to work in a complex work environment handling multiple demands concurrently
