Role purpose

The G Band Principal Specialist: Rugby Sponsorship based within the Consumer Business Unit. The role of the Principal Specialist Rugby Sponsorship is to ensure overall management of the Rugby sponsorship portfolio.
NB: The role will be responsible for some of Vodacom’s smaller sponsorships such as Vodacom Durban July and any other sponsorship that comes up from time to time.

Your responsibilities will include

Development of a Rugby strategy for Vodacom based on the business, brand and sponsorship objectives and development of integrated Rugby campaigns
Financial management of the rugby portfolio, focus on commercialisation / monetisation of the assets by maximising the rights
Maintenance of rugby stakeholders relationships and related parties
Managing and measuring the delivery and execution of the sponsorships.

The ideal candidate will have:

Extensive experience and knowledge of the digital and content marketing landscape
Experience in conceptualization, development, management, implementation and measurement of rugby sponsorship strategies
Experience in management of Rugby sponsorships across various sponsorship categories and across various brands
Successful delivery of “through the line” campaigns
Extensive, established and current relationships within the Rugby industry

Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Rugby industry in South Africa of which 2 years should be on management level plus 3 year related qualification
Matric with minimum 8 -10 years’ experience in the soccer industry in South Africa of which 2 years should be on management level
