Specialist: Software Engineer ERP AWS
Role Purpose
The Software Engineer delivers through self and others to:
Modernize legacy applications by moving them to the cloud and conform to well architect framework to ensure cost efficiency, resilience, high-availability and performance.
Building applications that make use of large volumes of data and generate outputs that allow commercial actions that generate incremental value.
Support local markets and group functions in obtaining business value from the data & applications.
Your responsibilities will include
Analyzing existing processes and proposing solutions to move to the cloud.
Provision & maintain cloud resources.
Build applications for failure.
Use API first and use managed and server-less architecture as far as possible.
Make contributions to the process of defining best practices for the agile development of applications to run on the AWS cloud platform.
Ensure the highest quality of software releases
The ideal candidate for this role will have
Matric / Grade 12 Essential.
3 year IT or IS degree or diploma.
Relevant cloud certification at the professional or associate level.
3 to 5 years of working experience in related software development.
Agile exposure, Kanban or Scrum.
Core Competencies and Knowledge:
Experience managing the development life-cycle for agile software development projects.
Experience working with serverless services such as AWS Lambda.
Working experience with AWS is Essential. Python programming ability is Essential. Experience querying data from Relational Databases using SQL is Essential.
