Role Purpose

The Digital Product Development and Design team is responsible for designing the user experience (in the form of user interfaces) across all of Vodacom’s Digital Channels. 

The purpose of the role is to ensure that through user research, information architecture, UX and UI design, Vodacom delivers relevant products with an exceptional user experience across all digital channels. This role requires solid experience with following user experience design methodologies; crafting beautiful visual user interfaces; working in an agile, collaborative team; and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
The role is core to delivering exceptional customer experience across our digital ecommerce channels and will have a direct influence on the digital revenue KPI.

Your responsibilities will include:

User Experience Strategy and execution.
Execute on overall User Experience strategy and obtain organisational buy-in.
Drive delivery of projects to achieve User Experience business objectives.
UX and UI design.
Follow the user centered design approach in designing journeys across all digital channels.
Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off with a mobile-first focus.
Establish and promote visual design guidelines, best practices and standards within a broader cross functional team.
Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Information Systems / Informatics, Human Computer Interaction or other related fields.
 

The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum of 8  years industry experience essential in the following:
User-centred design, interaction design, information architecture, or similar.
Incorporate market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings into designs.
User Research Techniques and disciplines such as usability testing and contextual inquiries.
User interface and visual design. Wireframes and Prototyping of user interfaces (using tools such as Sketch [preferred], Axure, Adobe Creative Suite, Zeplin…)
Knowledge of technologies such as HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and mobile app operating systems would be advantageous.
Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) or similar certification would be desirable, but not required.
